Annapurna:
The Annapurna region is the most popular trekking route in Nepal. Every year, more than 60,000 tourists visit this area; twice the number those visit the Everest region. There are three major trekking routes to choose from in this area: Pokhara to Jomsom, Pokhara to the Annapurna sanctuary (Annapurna Base Camp), and the Annapurna circuit (Beshishar to Pokhara).
With the exception of the Annapurna circuit, all treks begin from Pokhara, Nepal's second largest city. This is a lovely town nestled in a valley of Nepal's largest lakes. The entire Annapurna Range can be seen in the background. This town is very popular as it is a great spot to relax for a few days, before or after your trek. All of these trekking routes include the chance to watch the sun rise from Poon Hill as it lights up magnificent views of the Himalayas. From there, the trail leads you to Ghandurk, the homeland of the brave Gorkha soldiers.
Trekking to the north of Ghandurk will take you to the Annapurna Sanctuary, commonly known as Annapurna Base Camp, where one is surrounded by the vast blue sky and the closest views of Annapurna I.
Another popular trip is from Jomsom to Muktinath; a pilgrimage for both the Buddhists and Hindus to a sacred temple close to the Tibetan border. This route offers views of an incredible valley and villages rich in Tibetan culture monasteries as it takes you through the Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest in the world. You will also walk through the small town of Tatopani, where many travelers pause to relax in the natural hot springs.
The entire Annapurna Circuit starts from Beshishar, a six-hour drive from Kathmandu. Trekkers in this are learn about the way of life of many different Nepalese ethnic groups, see breathtaking views of snow covered mountains and flora and fauna, and experience the challenge and satisfaction of the most popular mountain pass in the world.

Ghandurk Trek:

This trek to north of Pokhara is known as a beautiful Annapurna Trek with the magnificent Himalayan view sighted from the top of Poon Hill. The hike to maximum height is 3000 meters on the top of Poon Hill. The trekking area is almost fully crowded by the individual backpack tourists. Jomsom / Muktinath Trek:

This is an ideal winter route staying at lower altitudes but offering all the fine mountain views of the area together with the experience of traversing the arid landscape of the upper kali Gandaki valley and southern Mustang. In the winter it gets blocked with snow and in the early spring it can be swept by avalanches cascading down from the Hugh hidden slopes of Hiunchuli. But during the rest of year the ascent from the Gurung villages, leading through bamboo and rhododendron forests before emerging into the wide cirque of the awe-inspiring sanctuary is a trekker dream come true.

Highlights of Jomsom and Muktinath Trekking
